I-395 or the Henry G. Shirley Memorial Highway runs from the Springfield Interchange (I-95/I-395/I-495) to the 14th Street Bridge in Crystal City. It continues north into Washington, DC as the Southeast-Southwest Freeway. I-395 also has a reversible HOV facility along its entire length. Henry G. Shirley was Virginia's Highway Commissioner from 1922 to 1941.

BONUS! The I-395 interchange at Shirlington (the Shirlington Traffic Circle) was designed to accommodate the Four Mile Run Expressway which was proposed as a part of the 1969 Northern Virginia Major Thoroughfare Plan. Here is a map of what the interchange would have looked like had the Four Mile Run Expressway been constructed.
