Here's 5 photos taken on May 22, 2002 at the Route 895 opening ceremonies, by the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT), and used here by their permission. The photographer was Tom Saunders.


Above, the opening ceremonies were held on the eastbound main span of the Route 895 James River Bridge, at the highest point over the river. A school marching band was present with music.
